Irishman 28 looking for bar work in France:)
Hello
Any Irish here own their own bar in France?
Or maybe you're a manager
I could really use you're help as I just love
France and just want to live there
Im a bit down on my luck and it would
mean so much to me if you could help me out
Many thanks
Justin

Well the work situation here is as dire as in Spain and it's the wrong time of the year for sessional work, Cant say that any of our members in the French section have ever said they own or run a bar. Gites and Chambres d'hôtes yes but they rarely call for an additional full-time barman other than the owner.

Hi,
Google is your friend:
http://irishpubs.com/International
indicates 7 Irish pubs in France that you could contact.
There must be countless others, but not necessarily Irish - look in the Pages Jaunes, choose a town and enter "Bar" or "Pub".
You should do your best to get a "legal" job, not one paid under the counter. In addition to the question of healthcare coverage, landlords require to see regular payslips indicating a monthly salary 3-4 times the rent, otherwise you'd need a Guarantor.
Some people manage to live under the radar in France, but it's not recommended, esp when (not if) you encounter French Administration in all its forms....
Good luck!

it seems Ma Nolan's had a vacancy (apart from the chef one) a few days ago.

Best to look somewhere that is not 'seasonal' so the Cote d'Azur might be worth a punt.....weather's nice too!
Beziers has 2 Irish themed bars but I think the staff are French.
There is also an English gastropub (La Charniere) opened and run by ex Beziers/Northampton rugby player Johnny Howard, who is often on the premises. A mix of French and English clientele.
dmu has given good advice as usual.
