I can't stand uneducated American young soldiers from the army base butting in just because they hear a Brit accent and then telling us how they won the war for us !!!!!


And they have never heard of the French resistance, the Italian partisans or the sheer determination of the british to 'make do and mend' !!!!!!!

Is there a big US army base near you? Didn't realise they were in Italy, always think of them being in Germany. Got talking to some of them bought in for the recent D-Day celebrations and they said they were going back via Italy - which surprised me. Have to say, the one's we met here were lovely and really appreciated the effort everyone made during the war, although many admitted their ignorance before getting here.

Going back to the original thread - I can't stand watching people cut their toenails or pull out nose hair - so gross

yes - there is a huge army base near me and another flight base not so far behind (the Italians hate them all) but anyway .........

whoever would want to pull out nose hair or cut toenails in front of you ??????
