Re: gun licence in france
I would like to say how much I enjoy the comments and light hearted banter on this thread, what looked like turning into a nasty first experience on this forum( thanks Artemis)has been saved by the intelligent and entertaining replies of those who are willing and able not only to live by their own ideals but are capable and compassionate enough to appreciate other peoples choices.
Thank you
Ann

Oh I'm so scared of you all ...... not (as my 13 year old son would say). I just hope that I don't bump into any of you when I move to France .... can't say that you are 'my type of people'.

Please artemis go with the flow. There are many different types of people in France most of whom respect the views of others. Those who do not may find they are in for a rough ride

Jorgi, my views have not been respected at all. I really meant what I said I would not wish to socialise with any of the above .... I am proud of the fact that I can hold my head high and not participate in anything ghastly like hunting and yes I believe I am on the moral high ground .... and yes thankfully there are others like myself out there. Hope not to see you in France.

Artemis, I am disappointed that, as an educator, you have failed to listen to the views of those that you have chosen to communicate with. Have you ever thought of changing your career and becoming a preacher? It seems that you may have missed your calling.

Veggie, I just thank God you don't teach my son. Talk about double standards.

Thank you Ann I appreciate your agreement, by the way shouldn't 49 year olds be having a cup of cocoa at night instead of toting guns around the countryside

Re: gun licence in france
Well said Veggie.
Artemis, what part of what I have said have you found it impossible to understand. I am NOT in favour of hunting, shooting, fishing or blood sports of any kind. I am not in favour of animal cruelty, or for that matter, the exploitation of humans in the pursuit of profit. I am passionate about the environment. I don't eat animals or anything that comes from animals.
I live in a remote mountain village. I grow my own food, cut my own wood, walk and cycle rather than drive, don't travel long distances, and leave the smallest possible footprint on the earth. One of the reasons I came to France was to distance myself further from rampant consumerism and over consumption, and thereby to contribute less to the ravages of globalisation.
Can you not see that perhaps we have things in common? Apart from the fact that I try to understand and respect the lifestyles and choices of other people, whereas you, it seems, just know that you are always right, and seek to denigrate and devalue the views of anyone who even slightly disagrees with you.
