I think people only mentioned vacinations as they are pretty germane to your kids life in France. Even when enrolling your child in a day outing you have to generally give a photocopy of the vacination certificate. Choosing a life in France means choosing a life with paperwork if you have a child (and even if you don't). They aren't being difficult, but EVERY box has to be ticked, and yes, sometimes, it can tick one off!
