We had a very bad experience, losing about 2 years' rent while waiting for the legal wheels to turn and allow us to evict our tenants. Professionals with a sound financial "dossier" aren't necessarily honest tenants...

And it's the same with family.

Just noticed this aspect.
Be aware that the economic situation in France is dire, unemployment rates are very high, and this is unlikely to improve in the near future even with a change of Government in 2017. French companies are more likely to give priority to French candidates for any jobs going. If English is required, there are plenty of English-speaking French applicants chasing the jobs....
On the other hand, you yourself would have more chance with a multi-national company, but this would limit your choice of location.

Also, some very large growing US based software companies are finding it very difficult to get staff in USA and are employing more and more people working from home. Matt Mullenweg's new company is only employing staff this way apart from a few head office functions. https://automattic.com/work-with-us/ Matt M is the "wordpress" guy..
My favourite budgeting software YNAB, is also doing this...

France Telecom which is now known as Orange contracts a fair portion of it's work out to Réseau companies. Larger ones tend to do electrical work as well. It's also not as simple here as the work would have to meet French norms.

I've just had a thought..... (no comments please!)

So, bit of background. My eldest just did a summer internship with indeed.com at HQ in Austin. She's a computer scientist undergrad and they put her to work on the "aggregation". This is where the magic program searches the internet for job listings and puts them onto the indeed site. People search using indeed and come up with jobs that have been posted on the employing company's website. Indeed make their money on the pay per click for those companies that pay for their jobs to be listed and from the adverts at the side.
Is this something that would work for house sales in France? I don't think it is already being done.

You mean like Zoopla et al in the UK? Is there really not already a French equivalent?

Actually I think this is one.
Annonces immobilieres Partenaire

zileck.fr
They use the top 25 immobilier agencies in the "market", presumably France. Wonder if they use LBC?
