Default British Food Delivered To France

Hi

I'm not a british expat... but a french citizen actually...
I am looking for a British On-line Supermarket which sells grocery products such as Tesco, M&S or Sainsbury's. Moreover, I'd like to find a supermarket which sells REAL scones -because I find ONLY scones mixes...- and which delivers in South of France (Provence).

I hope that your expats experiences would help me.
Thanks a lot
Julien

Where are you in Provence.? As petitefrancaise says scones are really easy to make. If you are near enough to pop round I would gladly show you how.

I live in Hungary and order any British groceries I can't get over here from The British Corner Shop UK who deliver worldwide.

Strangely enough because we have an Auchan in my nearest city I can always find the French products/ food I like without too much problem!

The point about real scones is that they're best eaten fresh on the day they were made. They go stale very quickly, even on day 2 they're a bit dry and not the same, and are better toasted.
Think baguette.

"British corner shops" are great. The delivery is reasonably priced and all the food is very well wrapped each time. It is branded goods, not Tesco etc so is good quality. Had one breakage and they refunded the price for the item. You obviously pay a little more than the off the shelf price. The bread may not arrive as fresh as it could be but for jars of curry, marmite etc it's great. They also do chilled food but am unsure on how fresh it would arrive...especially things like pork sausages.

BCS are good, very good.

You can easily buy chilled food, and it arrives well packed, insulated, and surrounded with ice cubes - mostly still frozen. Highly recommended. They also sell Waitrose products.

Do you freeze it? If it comes "mostly still frozen"? Quite fancy pork sausages but never sure about meat products, especially pork.

The ice cubes are still "mostly frozen" - I thought that was fairly clear! The chilled food was never frozen, to start with, but you may freeze it upon delivery, if you so desire - I do!!

Default Thanks

Oh, thanks a lot for all your answers. At the beginning, I didn't aim at doing scones myself, but I will try, as some of you said that it is not very tricky.
I had a look at this website (BCS). It seems not so bad ! There are a lot of products and that's affordable. But as I like grocery products for their quality (in most cases) and their price, I'd like to order them. I just discovered Waitrose products on BCS. However, when you order chilled food on BCS, the parcel must be full of chilled products... That's unfortunate...
And do you know if groceries deliver in France directly?

Some manufacturers may deliver direct to France.
I used to order Doves Farm stuff online (mostly their gluten free stuff) but their ready made foods are delicious and postage is/was ok.
