Arrived in Montpellier :)
Hi folks,
We have just arrived in Montpellier, thankfully my SO is from here so we are staying with my Mother in law until we find a place of our own.
The plan so far is that my SO finds work and I'm full time Dad to our 16 month old.
We are looking on Leboncoin for suitable places to live but are there any other places we could look?
I have a few other questions and some ideas I'd like to run by you all but I'll create separate threads for those later.
For the time being, it's nice to meet you all and I look forwar to connecting with you

Re: Arrived in Montpellier :)
Welcome to France and welcome to the forum, Shinylittlelamp !
Montpellier is a super little town, beautiful in itself in great location and a real buzz in the air. I love visiting, but I don't live anywhere near so I can't help with local knowledge.
Leboncoin is where I would have suggested looking for a place to live. Also seloger at Petites annonces immobilières | 1er site immobilier français | Portail immo which is a more specialised site but with similar ads. If you don't have a job in France it's probably a waste of time going to agencies or professional landlords because without a CDI they generally won't want to know.
Good luck with it all, hope you soon settle into a place of your own.

Massive thanks Eurotrash!
Thankfully we have options regarding taking a tenancy but I can see how landlords and agencies require an income based in France, hopefully a mix of savings and French guarantors will swing it
The seloger site is really helpful!

Hi! We moved to Montpellier from London in March. We found our apartment on Leboncoin but was searching for private rentals rather than through agencies as we did not have the paperwork they would have required. We were very lucky to find an apartment which was being rented by a lovely couple who were pretty much the only people willing to rent to us!
