Anyhow I've decided to go for a new 130cm dish - just in case they tighten up the beam again in the future.
I got mine when it was on special so it was about 150 Euros, I forget if it has a names function as well as I just have a few sat's programmed in to it. But being able to tune a lnb properly with some visual response is excellent.

CS, what do you think of the SATLINK WS 6908 ?

It's a good deal cheaper (€92) and will display the TV picture as well as letting you edit the channel list via PC.

It looks ok but on amazon there are complaints of it's sensitivity. Personally I would see little need for picture as you just have to rely on what the strength bars say and that is what is important when working with dvb. Plus being able to read the screen in sleight certainly helps a lcd screen with just text would be easier than a tv picture with overlaid text.

You need a NIT device to show satellite names such as the Smart Electronics NIT Smartmeter S1.

£230 on Amazon.

Having decided to take the plunge and go for a 130cm dish my satman tells me the grossiste is out of stock - suddenly everyone is buying them - I wonder why

I give it less than six months and there will be a nationwide clamp down on oversized satellite dishes once someone in the French government realises he can upset loads of English people a special planning regulation will come in for big dishes.

Or maybe a dish tax. Diameter in cm x €10 per annum. Might go some way to plugging the multi-squillion euro current account deficit.

Just received one and now waiting for a different LNB. No idea how it works yet. Just attach the sat cable, look for astra at 28.2 and hope for the best!

We are still watching all channels by using a MYGICA XBMC box from Thailand, via a Steve in Spain. This box is connected to internet. The website we found it on was:
www.iplayerproxy4u.com
Hope this helps some of you.

Considering you see whole roofs made up of solar panels I'm assuming the maximum size is pretty big.

I was a bit unclear. We are not permitted solar panels at all!
