Default Where do your grocieries come from?

I have been surprised to discover my Pantene conditioner and Woolworths brand tinned chicken both come from Thailand. What imported grocieries have you noticed in your pantry?

We import lettuce from Barbados ... the local stuff is outrageously expensive.

Smile Re: Where do your grocieries come from?

Coles' tinned tuna chunks (Thailand).

Coles' Italian diced tomatoes (Italy, which came as a pleasant surprise).

Woolworths' tinned sliced apple (South Africa).

Oxo cubes (England).

Haldirum's pure ghee (India).

Ayam coconut creem (Malaysia).

My personal favourite: Rviana basmati rice (Pakistan). The label on the bag includes this mind-boggling slogan...

Non Stick Silky Sortex Clean Double Polished
...which sounds faintly pornographic.

Tinned Salmon USA
Tinned Sardines Norway
Peaches Spain
Tinned Tomatoes Australia
Olive Oil Australia
Cheese Mainland New Zealand

We try to buy Australian as much as we can and always read the labels to see where its coming from.

Pantene shampoo and conditioner and Oil of Olay are air-freighted into Australia, hence the price, I wonder how much they are produced in Thailand for?

And one of the big name underwear manufacturer's bra's are made in the Philippines and they are airfreighted in too. Can't quite remember if it was Berlei, but almost sure it was.
