Re: The Wet Season
Thanks for the pics Snappy. Truly scary powers of nature.
Flooding in north Qld is continuing at a horrendous pace:
"Most reports (all rainfall figures are unofficial) from around the Mackay township overnight were just over the 300 millimetre mark."
Pics and report here - http://www.abc.net.au/tropic/stories/s1838676.htm

Re: The Wet Season
It has actually stopped raining here today although we still have stormy looking skies. It is a shame as the farmers up here need a break after losing their crops last year

Re: The Wet Season
We're having a jolly old good start to the wet this year and already pundits are saying this is the best we've had in over 6 years (FNQ has been in drought mode over the past few years - FNQ standards, that is...), ebbs and flows with El Nino (coupled with the watchword of the day: 'Global warming'). The time when Cairns does not get a wet season is never going to happen - not in ours or our grandchildrens lifetimes - it's impossible to live in the tropics and not have monsoonal weather at some point in the year...however ferocious or mild that may be.
