Vic: Storms and Flash Floods

Vic: Storms and Flash Floods
Quite a bit of flooding in Victoria tonight across most of the west of the state so far.
http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/sto...-1225999816174
Lots of streets under water here in Melbourne and reports of people being rescued from cars.
Upto 100mm of rain in a short period of time is very unusual for Melbourne.
Radar shows more heavy rain coming.

Wow...seems quite full on. Hopefully doesn't continue too badly tomorrow or some serious flooding could be in store

I blame Ozzie, he posted that pic of flooding in some Mellie Street from years ago.
Whatcha moaning about, didn't we all move for the weather?

It is, I'm sorry, I'm just kind of 'disastered out' and have to find something to giggle about. I know you're ok, just hope everyone around you is as well.

Re: Vic: Storms and Flash Floods
It's finally stopped here in Mt Martha, thank goodness as the garden is flooded and was advancing up the alfresco.
I couldn't believe how hard the rain was coming down all night, we've got a tin roof so it's a bit noisier but phew was it hammering down and then at some point it suddenly stopped and then 5 mins later started again, just like turning a tap on and off!
Hope all VIC BE'ers are okay, I've just looked at the pics on the internet and thank goodness we weren't having to drive back from the city. I once got my car stuck in a flood which has freaked me out about driving in water ever since! (I knew the theory it just didn't work in practice )

Lashing down here...it's funny cos the radar looks clearish then all of a sudden this line of heavy rain just materialises. Should clear off to the east soon I think though.
No tennis for me this morning, text from the gym saying both local locations are closed due to storm damage.

98% humidity last night!
8 inches of rain!
I have friends who are landlocked...their house is at the top of their property, their, and everyone elses dams, have over flowed. The road at the bottom is a lake and even the 4 wheel drive isnt an option as yet because its too deep!

It's incredible how quickly and heavily it can come down, never fails to amaze. Hope it stops soon.
