Just watch out for things in the road.
Be careful if you are out and about after the floods...

Sandbagged and left, missed water in house by the skin of our teeth twice apparently according to neighbours.
Wouldn't know, currently marooned with MIL watching the Logan River peak in her front yard tomorrow.
All safe, 'tis all that really matters.
Sunshine State my arse.

Logan River mighty impressive halfway up the MILs front yard at Waterford West right now. Will wait for it to peak in a few hours then make a bee line for home via the neighbours higher property.
An afternoon of de-sandbagging and cleaning up awaits, we got off light.
And this was the 3 days I booked as annual leave to get away from work stress!

Close run thing getting out on Thursday but I think the neighbourhood has largely escaped somehow.

Dunno if I've shared this right but this is the view as of about 2 hours ago, and rising by about another metre.

We're going OK, plenty of leeway, but a couple of women and kids pulled out by boat just down the road earlier today.
It's quite beautiful if you discount the fact it's bloody dangerous!

Know what you mean about it being bl**dy dangerous; so tired of having to task crews to go and pull out idiots driving/jetskiing/swimming/prattting about in floodwaters. we have families who desperately need to be rescued from flooded homes but have to waste time sending floodboats to people who knowingly put themselves at risk

Hope you come out of it unscathed.

I'm vaguely surprised at the lack of idiots on our stretch of the river frontage.
Although there were plenty chancing it in 4x4s last night before it really went under. This even though there is a perfectly good alternative route
less than 5mins away ...
You'd put it down to natural selection if they weren't endangering other people.
No idea if our route home is finally clear (can get to our car on higher ground via a neighbour) the council website is useless, RACQ one seems to indicate OK. Will have an explore later when this peaks.
Would be nice to get home for the first time in a while ...

To say nothing of the apparently large group of sightseers on the local bridge waiting to see if it will go under.

RAACQ should be farily accurate. Also try https://qldtraffic.qld.gov.au/?utm_s...m_medium=none/ which is kept up to date as much as possible.
Impossible to keep everything up to date I guess. Conditions should ease soon ...

Local park is awash in the distance with churning water. All safe though so will just wait it out.
