Re: Thunderstorm Warning SE Qld
There's a fair sized storm coming together and heading towards Caboolture/Narangba.
Dare I say it, but a few uprooted trees, some hail damage and a bit of localised flooding won't really do much to mess up that area....

Re: Thunderstorm Warning SE Qld
Wouldn't be surprised at all if there are a few of those reported later. Its that disaster management attitude coming through I'm afraid, having to balance the detatchment of the job with the sympathy for those affected. In the midst of the response work one can't afford to lose the objectivity, its after the shift when one's trying to wind down that it becomes a more subjective issue. Very difficult to manage both at once - for instance the night of the Brisbane flooding after the Gap storm weekend, I was trying to organise someone to rescue a friend's disabled mum, whilst also trying to be totally objective and coordinate the wider response across the region.
How did you fare in the storms down your way the other week? We had some pretty nasty reports through from around your neck of the woods.

The lottery of storm damage never ceases to amaze me, same as with cyclones. One house gets trashed, while next door can be untouched. Un rhyme or reason to it, and no way of either predicting or preventing it.

Just been out dealing with the first assault from bees on the house. We get them every year. Bloody pain.
