Re: Weather warning EMQ
Watching her intensify around midnight was quite freaky, got very organised, all the satellite pics suddenly got clearer and then the Bureau rang and said she really was going to be a Christmas cyclone. All I could do then was wonder how strong she would get before the coast - and fortunately she didn't get much worse.
5.40am she would've been crossing the coast, I got an email from a colleague up there who said it felt like it too at that time. She made landfall around Yarrabah apparently.

Re: Weather related disaster/emergency info thread
Hmmmm posted at 8pm, wonder how the next hour or so went.........a few miles down the road Bowen Hills recorded 60mm between 9pm &10pm. Campbell Street apartments were turning their car park into a boating lake again......
Edited - its Brisbane's turn: Storms have heralded more weather chaos in the southeast, with an overnight downpour of 70mm in less than an hour ahead of a further 100mm expected today.
The second system is expected to approach this morning, dumping up to 100mm of rain on parts of Brisbane after yesterday evening's storm caused havoc in inner suburbs and knocked out powerlines in the Lockyer Valley.
About 50 cars were flooded in inner-suburban Brisbane last night as the deluge triggered flash flooding with at least eight roads either closed or affected.
