I can't help thinking that a little hut in the middle of Longleat forest is probably not the best place to be sitting out the equivalent of a Cat 2 cyclone!

A quote from my best mate.
'I drove through Essex yesterday. I saw the devastating weather damage myself...oh wait the storm hasn't hit yet.'

My sister co-ordinates the emergency responses for Wiltshire, so she is probably the one sitting in a little hut in Longleat!! (Actually it is more of a concrete bunker in Trowbridge.)

We were supposed to have got some of it here but it barely even rained.

Re: Southern Englands turn....
Tracked just up to the east of us so got off lightly though the wind was wild for a bit overnight.
3 people known to have been killed though, a 14 year old allegedly fooling around in the waves in Sussex and got washed away, 17 year old girl killed when a tree fell on her in Kent and a man who died when a tree crushed his car in Watford.
Nowhere near as bad as expected though, and not a patch on 1987.

Daftest comment I have seen so far
"its ridiulous that the police don't carry chainsaws anymore"
From the Daily Mail, strangely enough!!
