Shipping 10-15kg single box
Hi all,
Can anyone pls advise on cheapest way they have found to ship 1 box of personal items (clothes, books etc) from UK to Australia? Time not important, it doesn't matter if it takes months as we plan to arrive after it.
Thanks! Pam

I would warn you that interparcel ,along with many other cheaper courier brokers who do not specialise in sending personal items overseas, will not carry personal effects, they are a prohibited item.
Actually, the point is that they will carry them but if anything happens to your parcel (gets lost, delayed, damaged etc) you will not be covered by their insurance. We found this out with another company who used DHL to deliver our 3 boxes and they took 1 month to arrive (air freight) as they were not able to tell us where the boxes were and there was significant damage to some of the items we sent out. We asked for compensation and to claim on the insurance we had taken out with them when we booked and were told that as they were personal effects we were entitled to nothing.
Use a company who specialise in unaccompanied personal effects instead as recommended upthread.
