The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 3:45 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on weather radar near Caboolture and Burpengary. These thunderstorms are moving towards the east. They are forecast to affect Beachmere by 4:15 pm and Deception Bay waters, Bribie Island and northern Bribie Island by 4:45 pm.
Damaging winds, heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding and large hailstones are likely.
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services advises that people should:
* Move your car under cover or away from trees.
* Secure loose outdoor items.
* Avoid driving, walking or riding through flood waters.
* Seek shelter, preferably indoors and never under trees.

We've been warned of a high probability of severe storms across south east Queensland tomorrow (Saturday) and maybe Sunday. Heavy rain, strong winds, maybe large hail....

A medium to high chance of showers and gusty thunderstorms extending from the northwest of the state into central districts and into the southeast of the state. Showers and storms should also extend into the tropical interior and ranges. Some severe storms are likely over the southeast corner of the state south of about St Lawrence. Fine and mostly sunny in the southwest of the state.
