Very sad, footage is incredible. People being taken away in 4x4s because they have no more ambulances. Several big buildings have collapsed and many are trapped.

Part of the central cathedral has collapsed. I reckon that the previous earthquake had weakened a lot of buildings - and this new one has brought them down.

That is horrific, have been and it was such a lovely place. For the people of Christchurch it much be horrible to be going through this twice so close together.

An act of God? Hope he has house insurance
No doubt we will now be in the throes of "Earthquake Porn" until the next newsworthy item comes along. Apparently the good news is that the Australian women's cricket team are all O.K [ABC Coast FM] No mention of others who have lost their lives
Should we now add Earthquake to our Flood, Fire, Tsunami & Cyclone Alerts section?
Glibb? Flippant? My "Conscience" says yes
As Tony Abbott would say "Sh1t Happens"
