Default Got your cyclone kit ready?

First Northern & Eastern Region cyclones of the season are imminent.....there are two Lows lurking, one in the Coral Sea, one moving into the Arafura Sea.

Current forecast for their development is below, and its possible that the one near the top end could move across the Gulf and into the Coral Sea early next week.

Cyclone trivia for the interested out there......

Cyclone names - first one that forms in Australian waters this year will be called Fina, second will be Grant.
BoM Cyclone info - includes three day outlooks for Western, Northern and Eastern regions.

and the Weatherzone forum has masses of information for people no matter how new you are to the subject. Be warned if you start posting though, their mods can make us look like pussy cats when the weather gets really hairy and the forums go crazy. There's also a spin-off site launched this year run by some of the weatherzone posters; looks good so far

Closer to home - if you are in a cyclone-prone area, check your emergency kit and keep your eyes and ears on the local media.

Remember - ring 132500 for the SES - but remember they will be very busy and you may have to be patient. If its life-threatening, ring 000.
