Bushfires - Queensland
 

The bushfire Watch and Act message for Coonarr has been updated. Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is advising all residents and visitors in the vicinity of Burrum Coast National Park to finalise their bushfire plans and heed all advice from authorities. As a safety precaution, Burrum Coast National Park and campgrounds are self-evacuating on advice from QFES.

Crews are conducting back burning operations to contain the blaze and will continue to monitor Coonarr overnight.

At 8.20am a large bushfire was located near Coonarr Road, Palm Beach Road and Burrum Coast National Park. The large fire is moving in a north to north easterly direction and expected to impact the areas of Burrum Coast National Park within the next two hours.

Residents and visitors in the area are advised that if their plan is to relocate or they do not have a plan, then they are advised to relocate now. Leaving well ahead of a fire is the safest option for survival.

Currently, 14 fire crews are working to contain the blaze but firefighters will not be able to protect every affected property and residents and visitors should not expect a firefighter at their door or campground.

Residents are advised to call Triple Zero (000) if their property comes under threat.

Residents should consider taking precautionary measures including:
• Putting on protective clothing;
• Drinking lots of water;
• Moving car/s to a safe location;
• Closing windows and doors and shutting blinds;
• Bringing pets inside, restraining them (leash, cage or secure room) and providing water;
• Wetting down fine fuels close to buildings;
• Removing garden furniture, doormats and other items;
• Sealing all gaps under doors and screens;
• Filling containers with water - eg bath, sinks, buckets, wheelie bins;
• Having ladders ready for roof space access (inside) and against roof (outside);
• Having a generator or petrol powered pump ready; and
• Checking and patrolling outside for embers, extinguishing any spot fires and seeking shelter as the fire front arrives.

Residents are advised to call Triple Zero (000) if they believe their property comes under threat.

Multiple Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) crews are on scene at a bushfire burning in the vicinity of Deception Bay Road, Potassium Street and Krause Street, Narangba, Brisbane.
The blaze is now burning safely within containment lines with firefighters having successfully completed back-burning operations. Crews will remain on scene overnight and continue to monitor the fire. The fire is not threatening property at this time. A smoke haze may affect surrounding areas. Residents are asked to close windows and doors and to keep medications close by if they have a respiratory condition. Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions. If residents are concerned their property is under threat they are advised to call Triple Zero (000) immediately

ADVICE- Bushfire Warning for ‪#Carbrook‬ (‪‎Logan‬) as at 10pm, Wednesday 17 Feb 2016
Queensland Fire and Emergency Services (QFES) is advising:
As at 10pm, a large vegetation fire is burning near Beenleigh Redland Bay Road and west of Teviot Road, Carbrook, Logan.
Currently, multiple crews are on scene at the blaze, which broke out on Sunday.
Firefighters have successfully completed initial backburning operations and will conduct further backburning overnight to strengthen containment lines.
There is no threat to homes at this time however there is a large smoke haze affecting the area and surrounds, and this will continue overnight and into the morning.
Motorists, especially along Beenleigh Redland Bay Road, are advised to drive with caution and to conditions and avoid the area if possible due to limited visibility.
Residents are asked to close windows and doors and to keep medications close by if they have a respiratory condition.
