Please spare a thought for them, this fire moved fast and unpredictably, shows how scary it can be.

A bushfire WATCH AND ACT has been issued for people in parts of Bullsbrook and surrounding areas in the City of Swan, City of Wanneroo and Shire of Chittering.


• The alert level for the streets within this area that were previously on Emergency Warning, has been downgraded as the fire is now under control.
• There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is in the area and conditions are changing.
• You need to leave or get ready to actively defend.
• The fire started between Railway Road and Gully Road.

BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR:
• The bushfire is now under control, but is not fully contained.
• The bushfire is currently stationary and smoke is being blown in a north easterly direction.
• Firefighters are expecting the wind to shift from south westerly to easterly overnight.
• This means the fire may be moving in a westerly direction by morning.

WHAT TO DO:
• If you are not prepared or you plan to leave, leave now if the way is clear.
• If you are well prepared and plan to actively defend your home, make final preparations now.
• If you are not at home, do not try to return as conditions in the area could be very dangerous.

SAFER PLACE:

Although there is no immediate danger for people in these areas you need to be aware and keep up to date.

• Stay alert and monitor your surroundings.
• Watch for signs of a bushfire, especially smoke and flames.
• Read through your bushfire survival plan.
• If you do not have a plan decide what you will do if the situation gets worse.

ROAD CLOSURES:
Avoid the area and be aware of fire and other emergency services personnel working on site

A number of roads have been closed including:
• Neaves Road between Old Yanchep Road and Railway Parade
• Railway Parade between Rutland Road and Warbrook Road
• Flynn Drive
• Nowergup Road
• Karoborup Road
• Wanneroo Road between Old Yanchep Road and Flynn Drive, however local traffic is permitted to pass through the Flynn Drive control point.

Western Power has advised that the bushfire has affected the electricity supply for approximately 150 customers in the City of Swan and City of Wanneroo.

A bushfire WATCH AND ACT remains for people in parts of Bullsbrook and surrounding areas bounded by Wanneroo Road, Old Yanchep Road, Tomar Road, McKinley Road, Brand Highway, Muchea South Road, Railway Parade, Stock West Road, Cooper Road, Neaves Road, Old Yanchep Road and Flynn Drive in the City of Swan, City of Wanneroo and the Shire of Chittering.

The Watch and Act remains in place because of the expected wind change.
There is a possible threat to lives and homes as a fire is in the area and conditions are changing.
You need to leave or get ready to actively defend.
The fire started between Railway Road and Gully Road and is currently burning in pockets within containment lines.

BUSHFIRE BEHAVIOUR:
Currently the fire is contained and controlled however there is a risk when the wind changes, the fire may break containment lines. Firefighters are working to prevent this.
There was a break out on the south west corner of the fire near Perry Road and Wanneroo Golf Club, which was quickly contained by firefighters. Firefighters remain in the area.
Firefighters are experiencing the wind shift from an easterly to a south westerly.
This means the fire could move in a north easterly direction towards bushland west of Muchea.

WHAT TO DO:
If you are not prepared or you plan to leave, leave now if the way is clear.
