Default Rental wood floor

Hi we will be vacating our rental soon we have however noticed a section in the wooden floor that the varnish is flaking off, looked on the internet etc & found this is quite common in High traffic areas. Would this be classed wear & tear?

Did ring a flooring place & was told we wood need to re varnish the whole area which would cost $$$$

Any advice suggestions greatly appreciated

Thanks

is there a consistent pattern of wear and tear? Or is it obvious that some damage has occurred ?

I don't know the answer to your question, but I suspect that it is merely wear and tear, so nothing for you to worry about. Don't be surprised though, when the landlord tries to hold you to account.

Phone up the RTA, or your state's equivalent body, for some better advice. Be sure to post back on this thread once you have done so....

Oooo lucky you having a wooden floor, I want one so I can skate in the house

I reckon wear and tear but i suspect they will try and tell you otherwise, just stand your ground and contact your state's RTA.
