Week long business trip to Singapore
A friend of mine is about to join a new company and they are sending him to Singapore for a week.
Flight out is via Hong Kong, return trip is via Tokyo. He was arrested in the US in 2007 - case was dismissed so he has no criminal record - will this arrest prevent him from entering Singapore or transiting through Hong Kong or Japan?

You are well behind the times.
Unfortunately it's probably a suck it and see thing because asking the authorities will only highlight something they might well miss.
And once highlighted it's too late.
'Might miss' rather than 'might well miss'.
