UK Tax - Whilst in South Korea on 6/2 Week Rota
Sure this must have come up previously as a hot topic but I guess even more so as tax rules are changing!
We go over to South Korea on a 1 to 1.5 year contract commencing on 1st April 2014. We will be employed full time by an agent in Singapore, on a 6 week on (South Korea) and 2 week off (back in UK) rota. Therefore, I will not be in UK for 90 days.
We will be paying 18% South Korean Tax, regardless.
The question is, will me and my colleagues be liable to UK tax?
Here is our status:
1. We have been based in the UK for the past few years (at least 3).
2. We have our main home in the UK
3. We have our families in the UK (NOT coming with us)
4. We also have our limited companies in the UK (although will be employed in South Korea on a 'PAYE' basis).
5. We will be returning to our present UK homes after 1 to 1.5 years when the contract overseas ends.
Be grateful for your help.....
