Default strange weather anyone ?

A few days ago in Bangkok it was 35 degrees and humid. Then about three days ago some storm came down from China and it is absolutely freezing. About 16 degrees yesterday, in Bangkok !! , two weeks before the hottest month of the year ! Everyone is walking round wearing jackets and big coats. I go to work on a motorbike and coming home yesterday in the rain and the wind I might as well have been in England. Grey skies as well. At least it will be gone in a few days though. Is this just local to here or is there something going on in the world ?

I just saw a news item via thaivisa about that. Bloody hell... you better dig out the overcoats and scarves, heh heh.

I saw something about some storms off the east coast of Thailand. Was it that that caused it? Some pretty scarey waves too - 2 metres high I think.

Anyway, nothing happening down here in Penang. If it dropped 10 or 20 degrees I wouldn't complain. It was 41 degrees here on Thursday. We're melting.

Yesterday Saturday 19th it was only 26ºC (79ºF) here. That was in the afternoon too. We even had drizzly rain, grey sky and a strong East wind off the sea. Almost everyone was dressed in warm clothing; I believe the only exceptions localy were my eight year old daughter, and myself. Both of us felt the cold, especially with the chilling wind.
Strange in 2010 it was the coldest and wetest January I have witnessed here. January this year wasn't too good either.

It's warmed up today but it's supposed to go cold again next week. Still, sleeping with no a/c has been nice.

Climate change, my ass.

We've had a heck of a lot of rain the last couple of weeks, which is strange as I am told it's supposed to be Dry Season here

You could say that most days, couldn't you?

I'll be there in ten days' time to check for myself.

Pretty regular torrential downpours about 5pm ish at the moment. Keeps the temperature down but not good when you're driving a motorbike like me. I've got some waterproofs but the rain hurts !
