Dry weather Nov/Dez Ko Samui ?
Hi,
To my knowledge the dry and holiday season of Ko Samui is from Februrary to September. This is total contrary to Bangkok, where the dry season is from November to February.
My Problem is that I want to go to Ko Panang in November or Dezember very much, but don't want to come into monsum rains. Now i've read this thread in this forum about the drought in july. http://britishexpats.com/forum/showt...threadid=89761
There it reads:"The rainy season for Samui normally runs from May to October, after which tourists
begin arriving in droves for their end-of-year holidays." Now I'm confused . What is right ?
So can anybody tell me please that November or Dezember is dry holiday weather to go to Ko Samui ? Or that the drought will last just till then ? Please !
Achim

Hi
First of all: I don't think that there is a difference in the wet season/dry
season if you compare Bangkok and south of Thailand. To my knowledge it just
rains a bit less around Bangkok compared to southern Thailand in the wet
season. And I also thought that there are three main seasons in Thailand.
First you have to cool dry season which runs from Nov/dec and this runs into
a hot dry season which ends in april/may and this is when you enter the wet
season and this is at a maximum in September/October. This is at least what
I have understood from reading different guidebooks. And I have also been to
Thailand three times in the wet season.
