I'm getting my first ever tattoo tomorrow!

I turn 30 this summer and I've always wanted one but felt like I was too young to really accept the reality and permanency. Now I know what I want, the tattoo artist and I have consulted on the design, and the appointment's booked for noon tomorrow. Plus I will never be able to say I'm in my 20s again... and I've been far too sensible in my 20s to not go a bit wild at the last minute.

We lost a baby in 2011, and when I miscarried it was the size of a blueberry. I'm therefore getting an actual-sized blueberry on my right shoulder blade, with a tiny green leaf peeking out from behind. I've been deciding on the design for almost a year, and it's turned out really nicely.

I'm pretty sure I won't regret getting it done, but I'm still a bit scared!

Any advice from my fellow inked BE members?

Visa for Argentinian National in Spain

Hi,

So I'm a UK citizen living in Spain, I haven't got resedencia yet as I only moved there a couple of months ago but I'm in the process of sorting that out.

My girlfriend lives in Argentina and we're tired of the whole long distance thing so we want to live together in Spain with her 8 year old child. She can come for 90 days without a visa but what options do we have for her to stay longer than that?

I am full time employed so working is not essential at first though she would like to obtain full residency and be able to work eventually, it's not a requirement right now.

I've seen references to a "non-lucrative" visa - would she be entitled to this? Also, what would be the requirements for us to register for Pareja de Hecho and would that help her visa situation? (I am separated but not divorced yet so that may also affect things)

Any advice would be appreciated - the information out there on visa requirements for non EU nationals is a bit conflicting.

Cheers

Frequency of return visits with parental super visa

Hi, hoping somebody can help me and apologies if this is silly question or has already been answered elsewhere (forum search is down)

if my father obtains a supervisa and is than able to visit for (hopefully) the max 2 years, how long after the end of that visit would he be able to return given the visa lasts 10 years...

I am unsure whether repeated lenghty visits would raise doubts as to ties within, and intention to return to, his home country (uk) and so cause him to be refused on subseqeunt entries, and whether there has to be a "decent" period between visits - the official website as far as I can see simply says up to 24 months, it doesnt for example say "within a 36 month period" or anything of that nature which would stop the person basically spending the whole 10 years here with only a week or so back in uk between visits ?

The hope woudl be for him to apply for residency (with me sponsoring him) whilst basically spending most of the time here until it being granted (if it is) - does he have to be outside Canda when the parental sponsorship is made or during the time it is being processed / considered - is he free to come and go under the supervisa during that time ?

Any info anybody can provide would really be appreciated ! Thanks.

Hi!! - Possible move to the Caribbean...(Moved to the Caribbean Forum)

Hi All,

I'm currently contemplating a move to the caribbean as I'm young and I currently don't have any commitments.

I'm hoping to get into the legal field out there as I have heard that there are better opportunities out there than here in the UK as I'm struggling to find legal work in the UK due to the recession.

I have legal qualifications and I'm aware that I would have to undertake a 6 month conversion course at Norman Manley Law School in Jamaica order to practice as a lawyer out there.

I would like to live on one of the following islands: Bahamas, Barbados, BVI, Bermuda, Cayman, St Lucia (or simply any island that is *NOT* Jamaica!!!)

I would like to know if there is anyone on here who has made this move and who can tell me what the current climate is in the legal profession in the caribbean.

Are jobs easily obtainable?

What is the likelihood of me walking into a job once I've completed the conversion course?

Any help or advice that anyone could give would be much appreciated!!

Thanks!! :D

Question about 1 child who wants to stay in UK

Currently have NOA2 for I-129f (less than a week ago!) and we are currently getting all documents together for upcoming interview period. Fiancee has 2 children. 1 child (17, turns 18 later this year) wants to stay in UK and has no desire to become part of the K2 program.

Other child is 16 and actively wants to come to USA, and will be a K2.

We have father permission, signed and notarized.

The question I have is as follows: Do we need any documentation regarding the child wishing to stay in the UK? Already lives away from parents on own, and doing well. Do we just prepare all documentation for the K1/K2 only?

Thanks.

B2 Visa application (police caution)

Hi all, first of all, thanks to all the posters who contribute here, it's a fantastic resource. I know there are some similar threads, so apologies in advance, but I hope you understand some opinions on my exact situation would be useful!

5 and a half years ago, when I was 18 years old, I stole £1k worth of goods from my employer (very large company). I was arrested and cautioned and have been in no trouble since. The drugs tests on the caution sheets were clean and since it's happened, I've gone on to complete an Undergraduate degree, and am currently completing a MSc.

I hope to visit California next year to visit a friend, the intention is to travel down south from San Fransisco, all the way to the boarder, where I'll continue my travels through South America, ending in Rio to fly back to England.

I have a few concerns. Firstly, I'm currently not in employment, as I will be a student until the end of September, as I have to write a dissertation during the summer. I am also living at home with my parents and have minimal savings. Will this appear to the immigration officials to be a concern for not returning?

Secondly, is 5 and a half years enough time since the cautions was issued?

I would never consider lying on the waiver to get in, i vowed after my first and only bit of trouble to never do anything illegal ever again.

Finally, what difference does the interview make? I'm confident that given the chance, I could plead my case well, admitting full guilt and describing how I've developed over the past 5 years.

Thanks for your time.
