UK/Europe S1 form
Hi, has anyone applied for an S1 (E106) form in the UK before departure to another EU country?
I've looked at the HMRC and it seems to want the dates I left- although I have not left yet...

I thought you could only apply for an S1 once you were resident in Europe?

I gather google is not working for you today?

If you're of working age, your healthcare is covered by your contributions as a salaried or self-employed person, otherwise you must take out private healthcare insurance.
If you're considering Croatia, you might do well to ask for info at the Consulate, as not many people in BE post from Croatia....
Good luck!

I applied 4 years ago for my S1 so it may have changed. The form has a start and end date. Best to put the start date when you will have definitely arrived. With 35 years of NI paid I only got 11 months cover.

Re: UK/Europe S1 form
New S1 forms are now only issued to a recipient of a UK state pension; further, the current holders of an S1 form continue to receive the benefit. Both would also receive a UK EHIC card for use in other EU countries.
If you are not in receipt of a UK state pension, new residents have to register/join in the healthcare system in-place in the country you've moved to.
