Hi,

I will be basing 6 motorcycles in Spain ( In intend to be a resident), I have looked at prices in both spain and the Uk and surprisingly they are Cheaper in the UK

I will need to buy these shortly before or after I arrive so I won't own them for 6 months.

From the research i've done new bikes in Spain attract 2 taxes IVA @ 16% and I mat @ 12%

Now some questions..

If I buy new bikes in the uk and pay all the uk taxes will i need to pay both spainsh taxes or just the 12%

If i buy second hand bikes in the uk is it just the 12% i have to pay.

If i bought the bikes new in Spain through a spainsh registered company what taxes can be claimed back?

and finally are Spainsh dealers ameniable to haggling when faced with a pile of Euros

Dont know about taxes on them, but if you buy in UK you will have to pay import duty and change them to Spanish plates...or take them back every year to MOT and tax them to get insurance in Spain.
If they are going to be rentabike you will be able to claim on the business taxes.
Everyone loves a load of dosh to haggle with.
