Default Trade Assistant NSW

Hi guys,

So we have now jumped through all the hoops and submitted our visa PR190 application last week to NSW just medicals in couple weeks and police checks due back in 10 days so now it's job searching time.

I've a couple questions that I'm hoping to get answered by those in the know,

1) do I have to work as a trade assistant whilst completing my gap training, I'll get my white card before we go, or as I've Read on this forum you can work as a electrician but for a company. Obviously wages differ hugely between TA or qualified sparks.

2) if I have to go down the TA route then is it worth while getting cv across to some of the recruitment companies and getting work through them?

3) wages........ what is genuinely an achievable monthly/weekly wage?

4) transport...... I assume from the start it would be worth sourcing a van/pick up? We've vehicles to sell here so that will go towards to costs of them.

5) areas to work? I suppose this all depending on work load next year but do we head to Sydney or stay out further and the likes Byron Bay?

Sorry for the questions I do try to gain as much info as I can on forums but sometimes it's just easier to ask.

Thanks in advance

Rich

Hopefully one of the NSW sparks will be by, but NSW have an unlicensed spark pay rate so you do not need to work as a TA - you just need someone else to sign off your work I believe. Probably not worth approaching anyone until you at least have the visa, but maybe not until you are in country. White card is only necessary for construction industry I think so that will depend on the work you do. If doing it from the UK, check it will be recognised in NSW - I think they all need a photo these days but not 100% on that as I don't need one for the work I do.

Can't help with wages I'm afraid - I don't do installation and not NSW.
