Re: South Australia license
Well done , it just shows that there is no substitute for personal experience and that you shouldn't always believe everything you read. If it wasn't for Jockstar saying this was possible I wouldn't have bothered applying after reading all the doom and gloom surrounding Fitter ARTC, PEER course, SA licencing and the mutual recognition agreement. Fingers crossed mine turns up soon, don't need it but it will be a nice one to have, especially as the border is so close

Hello everybody,
What do you know, my NSW Electrician Supervisor Certificate arrived today (that's what they call a licence).
To all those that said or thought it was impossible IN YOUR FACE (only kidding) and to those that helped and gave reliable and useful advice thank you. It's been a while and my appearances on BE are getting fewer and further between just thought I'd come back on to let people know how it turned out in the end.
Basically a SA and NSW electrician licence with no tafe, no log book, no restricted licence and no working as an apprentice for a year on sh@t money (if you can find a job) and all after being shafted with a fitters ARTC!.
Good luck to everybody else whatever pathway you choose.
That's it,
I'm OUT
Special thanks to SteveO, Arthur (sometimes ), Jockstar, Derren, Wendy and last but not least the Dunkl

Congrats mate. Just goes to show that persistence and hard work eventually reaps rewards, and not to believe everything you read and trust your own instincts.
All the best for the future.
Kind Regards, Derren

Re: South Australia license
I did PEER in Feb 2011 and have spent the last 2 years working for a tight arse Yugo guy, i've hated every day.
But i have now completed the level III compliance and verification course (lots of logbook) inc 2 written exams. I applied for my QLD licence in December and today it arrived YAHHHHHHHHHHH
Been stuck on $28 with this f#cking w#gg to long!
But the licence they sent me states my name, Electrical Mechanic but says at the bottom "NOT TRADE QUALIFIED". In the covering letter it says this is because i did not do a formal appreniceship or full gap training in Queensland!
So I am not sure if this will hold up my move to hopefully working for a fairdinkum Aussie.
