Hi there I'm new to this forum, I am British and a fully qualified electrician living in Sydney on a working holiday visa i have 14 months left on it as i have done my farmwork. I was wondering if anyone could advise me on how to gain an electrical licence in Oz if i am fully qualified in the UK. If anyone could advise me on the steps to take or the paths which you go down to gain your electrical licence in Australia would be much appreciated. Thanks

You would need a skills assessment for an OTSR (Vetassess, Vic Uni or Future Skills) for a supervised licence and then gap training and experience for the full license. It may be possible to get an RPL to Cert III (maybe try Tafe or see if there's an apprentice training centre near you). Maybe contact Fair Trading for advice - Electrical - NSW Fair Trading
