Heat and humidity

Heat and humidity
Just curious.
I used to have a friend in Cyprus and when I used to moan about the humidity here in Penang Malaysia, she said Ooooffff you should see what it's like here in August. She said it was very humid.
I'm just looking at weather.com (which may or may not be correct) and it is saying:
Cyprus 34 deg C. Humidity 23 percent (this is a 1pm temperature)
Penang 31 deg C. Humidity 70 percent (this is a 5pm temperature....actually doesn't make much different on timing here as it's flippin' humid all the time)
So, is the above accurate? Shall I book my plane ticket?

Re: Heat and humidity
Hi BB,
Having lived in both Cyprus (Larnaca) and Singapore (similar heat/humidity to Malaysia), I'd say the difference is like chalk & cheese concerning humidity.
[On one occasion during a maintenance call-out to Paphos airport in March, it started to snow heavily at midnight, and as no hangar facility was available what with the wind chill effect, we were frozen through].
You'll be ok now though. Go on, book that plane ticket!

Re: Heat and humidity
Ah...so it's not that humid then. Nice.
I was joking a little bit about jumping on a plane. Not in a position to travel at the moment but I am seriously thinking of a holiday next year. I shall need to research a little bit, so I may post a few questions on here at a later stage. Gosh I haven't been to Cyprus for maybe 15 years.
It snows in Paphos? . Is that unusual? I thought it was just up in the mountains it snowed sometimes.

Re: Heat and humidity
Having lived in Malaysia,Borneo and most of the middle east. Cyprus is a dream. Yes it is Humid but easy to adjust to. Nothing like malaya and Borneo.
Each winter we have snow up in the Troodos mountains. Three ski runs. Down at the lowlands coastal area NO SNOW. However we do get an odd flurry in the winter but it goes so quickly. During Jan - March rain storms come and go along with huge hailstones. LOVELY
