Default Spouse Visa - What am I missing?

Hi guys.

Not applying for our Spouse visa just yet, but going through what we have so far and would like a second opinion on my documents list (although many opinions would also be good!)

Here is what we have so far -

Firstly some notes...

- Last seen each other (in person) on 25th February 2015.
- Son was born on 24th April 2015 (British Citizen)

- Completed Application form(s)
- Appendix 2 needs to be completed
- Applicant's photos, passport and bio-metrics
- Application fee
- Applicant's Criminal Record Check
- Sponsorship Undertaking Form
- NHS Surcharge (£200 x 3 years) = £600

- Letter from boss confirming the above and explaining he is signing my payslips
- Electronic P60 (signed by Boss)
- Employment Contract (Signed and Dated)

Accommodation Evidence

- Tenancy Agreement (signed and dated)
- Signed letter from Landlord giving permission for applicant to stay - also confirming number of rooms

Relationship Evidence

- Invitation letter with relationship history + stating future intentions
- Over 200 photographs (named and dated) - of wedding, time together and time with family.
- Photographs of Applicant and our Son together (named + dated)
- Skype chat logs - showing time and date of video calls.
- Skype screenshots with applicant, sponsor and our child viewable.
- Facebook chat logs
- Emails
- Some SMS Messages
- Hand written love letters
- Greetings cards - Christmas, Birthday, Valentines Day etc.
- E-tickets/flight & hotel bookings
- Western Union receipts
- Hong Kong Marriage Certificate
- Boarding passes (To and from Hong Kong and her home country)
- Immigration stubs/stamps - copied from Passport
- Utilities bills from shared accommodation (in Philippines)
- Rent receipt from shared accommodation (in Philippines)
- Our son's British Passport, Philippines birth certificate and Philippines Passport
- Sponsor's passport.

Other Evidence

- Tuberculosis test results (All Clear!)

Am I missing anything or are there any areas that I am a bit thin on the ground? I would greatly appreciate any help with this

Many thanks in advance!

You do not need over 200 photograph, the official is not going to look through all those. The greeting cards are also superfluous.

You do not need to send the sponsor's actual passport - a notorised copy will suffice.

Yeah. It's a bit much - I will just choose a selection.

Greetings cards - I agree. But "Emails, letters and cards" are listed as examples of relationship evidence in the guidance documentation - https://www.gov.uk/government/upload...settlement.pdf

The only reason I am including my (the sponsor's) passport is because she will have it after we get our son's passport anyway. And I have no plans to go abroad any time soon.

Thanks for your response. I assume that I haven't missed anything then?

Great Thanks

How do I get my UK passport "notorised"? Is it the same as getting it certified? Where a doctor or solicitor can sign it off as genuine?

Don't include 200 photographs and a box full of greeting cards. Your ECO will not be impressed if they have to wade through your entire wedding album and they carry little weight in of themselves. A selection of photos - no more than a dozen - that supports your relationship history statement will suffice.

I have a couple of questions here:

1) Why have you included a criminal check?

2) The biometrics part really confuses me, I thought you just complete the biometric part when you arrive at the application centre? Why would you already have a certificate? Or is this just a form you print off that's part of the online application?

3) Why are people mentioning a notorised copy of a passport? The guidelines state they only need a copy of the bio data page?

Thanks!

hello marty90...is your wife a Filipina, and would you be submitting your application in the Philippines....the only reason why I ask is..

my wife (Filipina) and yesterday, has just got her spouse visa from the Philippines, I will list all the docs which I submitted in manila

1) Why have you included a criminal check...NBI clearance, is required in the Philippine's and need to be updated every year, and its used as form of ID, as well as a criminal check....its not required document, but I included as well

2)The biometrics ...required when you apply outside the uk, as well as inside and it done at Vac, normally at VFS when you submit you documents.

3)notarised copy of a passport...visa application can take 2 or 3 months, so when I submit my wife's application in the Philippines, I could not leave my passport there as I need to travel back to the uk...that why, I used a certified/notarised copy. if you live in a country with your wife and not traveling, use the passport.
