If we do not receive your supporting documents within 10 working days we will make a decision based on the information we already have on file. No further request for your supporting documentation will be issued.

•• i got relies like- Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International enquiry service.

In regards to your query, please note that a decision on your application still under process whilst further enquiries are being conducted.

Do i really need to send them sponsor docs again on that address ? The thing is i dont have original documentation at all . Every docs are still with them which was sent on 27th July and they received on 31stJULY.

There are loads of reasons. Perhaps your background checks are taking longer. Perhaps it's because you're from a different country which is known to be one of the high fraud/high risk countries. Perhaps your CO has been trying to verify the employment and hasn't been able to get hold of your employer. Perhaps the people getting their visas quicker just gave more complete information. Perhaps your CO has been going through a divorce and slightly distracted. Perhaps a cup of coffee was split on a piece of paper and they've been waiting for it to dry out.

There are so many variables when it comes to visa processing that you can't compare your case to others, as you've no idea what is going on behind the scenes or what extra checks are being done. That's why we tried to dissuade the timeline thread, because comparing your own timeline to others is the way madness lies!

Just know that it it is being processed and I know it's not easy, but try not to use others timelines as a guide. I hope you hear soon.

In theory people should be able to use these threads as means of hope and personally I'm guilty like I'm sure many others are of doing so. The process should be generally systematic and results should come almost in a que like fashion. If there is a delay for any reason and your application is delayed then there should be an almost instant reply as to why you are waiting longer than others. This is not happening and therefore leaves people to scratch around different forums seeking out answers, wether they are there or not it's a difficult process so finding your own hope is sometimes all you have. My wife is applying from thailand non priority, we have experienced people receiving good news, people who have applied after us (non priority) from thailand. There seems to be no system here and if there is we should be made fully aware of it. I'm sure the 90 plus club would agree.

christmasoompa! You need to learn how to talk to people ohok, here is not you bed room that you can talk rubbish here. Better to encourage the person not to condemn him! We all here need encouragement that is why we share our post. Why do you have to talk like that! Are you the one going to make a decision on his visa ? If the person country is doing fraud are you the one going to tell him ? And we all sometime compare our timeline to other too, so that we can be encourage.

So you want me to lie to them? That seems fairly pointless to me. Having worked in immigration for many, many years, I know only too well how visa processing works, and I know that comparing your own timeline to other peoples is an exercise in frustration. If you consider me pointing out that lots of different things can influence a visa application timescale, and wishing simonnz luck, 'condemning' them, then that's you misreading it.

As an aside, as per our previous messages, this thread is for spousal applicants, so please don't sidetrack it with your own issues. Please start your own thread for your own visa route. Thx.

It would be nice if they could do that, but that would just mean even longer processing times if they had to notify people overtime there was a reason for a delay. Plus they can't share the reasons sometimes, I remember one client I had who had a very lengthy processing time and we couldn't work out why - it was only afterwards that we found out that his brother shared a name with somebody on a terrorist watch list, so they had to do more in depth background checks on the brother to be sure it wasn't the same guy.

I know it's tough, but there will be a reason why others have been processed quicker than you, and it's just a waiting game unfortunately. On the plus side, it means they're carefully vetting people, so when you/your spouse come to the UK, it means it will hopefully be more safe because of it!

Best of luck, hope you hear soon.

"it's just a waiting game unfortunately" - the same words my solicitor used

Do they actually know what they are doing or is it all chaos in the background?

Dear all

I just want to share that I have just been contacted from the Bangkok British Embassy. They requested the same documents as Sheffield did 2 months ago! They said the decision will be made in Bangkok now due to some problems in Sheffield.
I will keep you posted. Hope I will hear soon as this is the 23rd week!

Having read what Christmasoompa said.. I didn't see anything there that condemns or talks rubbish. And like my husband always tell me, comparing timelines is a dangerous thing to do as it can breed feelings of lost and discouragement, anger, confusion and jealousy which at this moment really doesn't help at all. Each one of us applicants have different situations and cases which the ECO needs to assess carefully for both the sponsor and applicant's sake.

And with your case, you may need to find a forum or create your own since your application is a visitors visa. This is the first time I've heard about a visitors visa taking so long. In fact, my sister in law applied for a family visit visa 3 weeks ago in Jordan, and her paperwork was sent in Sheffield too. She got her decision last week.

Does this mean the local British embassy will have someone do the same job as an ECO would in Sheffield or will they just wrap up the latter stages of processing the application?
