Only reply we get from hmpo is the application is going through the exmation process.
Anyone else had the same experience??
HMPO is quoting at least 8 months for someone in your cousin's circumstances. I would count on 12 months and any sooner would be a bonus.

Hey thank you for your reply.
But any reason why it's takein so Long? They have not asked for any other documents or anything up to now. Is they a chance they might say no after 6months?

Bangladesh is a high risk country and the circumstances under which your cousin is applying don't help (over 16, father naturalised, father now deceased). Providing your cousin's claim is legitimate and he can provide the information/documentation required then there would normally be no reason to refuse his application but it's going to take time.

Hello thank you for your reply again.
Yes father gained British citizenship from the time he spent in the UK over 40years.
The home office status letter was issued after 6months with no other docments required.
1.faters original citizenship.
2.sons original birth certificate.
3.partents original marriage certificate.
They said he's a British citizen under section 2 1a of british nationality act. We sent of all the docmounts to hmpo that was stated on the status letter with other supporting documents.

Only good thing it's bein 6months and it's not bein rejected. Hope for the best.

Hi !

I have applied my son first British Passport from VFS Nepal on 4th Nov 2016.

All payment were taken and all necessary requested documents were submitted.

Both Parents hold British Passport.

Contacted HMPO, got the standard reply of security check. Which risk country does Nepal fall under?

Anyone has experience of applying fist child british passport from VFS Nepal? Any idea on time-line.

Has anyone tried applying Visitor visa for the child in order to visit UK though the both parents hold British Passport?

4 November 2016 or 2017?

Nepal is considered to be a high risk country but applications shouldn't take as long as some other countries. HMPO quote at least 10 weeks.

If you apply for a visitor visa for your son then it should be refused as he is a British citizen.

Thank you for your reply as your post has been helpful to read.

We applied in 4th Nov 2016. Have been contacting HMPO but getting the same answer with security check under process.

Any suggestion from your experience that we can do.

That's a very long time to wait. Are both parents naturalised? Ex-Gurkha perhaps?

Not without previously having held a British passport.

It's fairly rare but not unheard of. What did the email actually say then if it wasn't setting up an appointment?

It asked my husband if he was still in the UK as they want to do a second interview and if so if he wanted it in Durham or would go to Baghdad. I've emailed Durham overseas team since end December and they keep telling me wait until we approach your file on the pile. I start to wonder how big the pile is. So its fairly rare now im getting scared as the first one was in april in Luton.
