somebody Are you working with an immigration attorney?
I had wondered if this was something that might get addressed through the judicial unfairness route.
Laurie Fransman will have a new edition of his book Fransman’s British Nationality Law next September. I expect it will have a lot of judicial unfairness case studies, both successful and unsuccessful in it.

If this is important to you, and it sounds like it is, I would focus on finding the correct professional advisor instead of waiting for the next edition of a book to guide you.

It’s my understanding that immigration attorneys refer to Fransman… because this is where precedent can be found.

A British subject child who has lived legally in the UK for over a decade should have the same rights in 1910 as a naturalized British subject child who has lived legally in the UK for over a decade. Romein addresses the historical inability to register.
We will investigate this, but since every case is different I suggest you seek your own legal advice.

pallykin, I believe our situations are sufficiently similar. I will let you know via private message if we make any headway. Please give us a few weeks on this. Per the Home Office, "only the courts can determine conclusively whether that person is actually a British national." Again, the advice you seek comes from an immigration attorney.
