Irish citizenship can be passed on indefinitely providing each generation is registered as an Irish citizen before the next one is born which can be very helpful if you're not eligible for British citizenship by descent.

Australia has a similar policy but with a two year cumulative residence requirement for the parent although this can be accumulated after the next generation has been born.

Canada and New Zealand restrict citizenship by descent to the first generation born overseas unless the parent is in Crown service.
