Re: British Citizenship by discretion (pre 1983)
Dear all,
I am writing to you on behalf of my boyfriend, we believe he can apply for ARD 4L (residing in RSA):
He was born RSA 1972
His mother born RSA 1949
Maternal grandmother born Scotland 1920.
For the documentation, does he need to include anything from his father (his father has no UK family background/history)?
We assume he needs to send the following:
unabridged birth certificates for himself, mother and maternal grandmother
passports for himself, mother and maternal grandmother
marriage certificates for his mother and maternal grandmother (applicant has never married)
Does he need to send the death certificates of his mother and maternal grandmother?
Will he need any documentation for his maternal grandfather? (no UK ties/background/history - he was from RSA)
What legislation or category would help his application?
I appreciate all replies and assistance.
