Apostilles (marriage/birth certificate)
Good evening everyone. I've tried searching the forum so hope this isn't a duplicate. My wife is Ukrainian, we have a ukrainian marriage certificate. Question:
Does our marriage certificate need to be stamped by an apostille before we translate it and get it signed off by a notary?
I've searched and read the "immigration-rules-appendix-fm-se-family-members" and there's no mention of it so I'm assuming not.
On the subject, do any other documents need apostilles? My wife's reading on other forums that all sorts of things need doing including her birth certificate and even my UK passport?
Any help from experienced users would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Apostilles (marriage/birth certificate)
Your passport does not need to be apostiled as the Home Office can easily check it.
So far as the other documents are concerned , I don't know but hopefully someone like Brit in Paris will pop along with more detailed info. I had to do it the other way - get our marriage cert etc apostiled by Milton Keynes for our residents visa here.

No, your documents don't need to be apostilled but they should be original and you should provide a certified English translation of anything not in English or Welsh.
