We've been reading a lot about Panama recently - it seems very welcoming for new (and retired) outsiders - very warm climate, low cost of living, etc, but we wonder about the cost of health insurance and services for us ailing old folk - haven't got around to getting a quote yet but probably will soon - but it would be good to have some comments from anyone with experience of living there.

We visited Panama four years ago and attended a International Living conference ( also rather sarcasticly known as 'International Lieing' ). We were looking at the country as a potential place to retire to and the country did tick quite a few boxes, not least the Pensionado visa.

Retirement there is still an option and we will do some more research closer to when we eventually decide, or can afford to, retire.

There is a Panama newsletter we subscribe to that provides interesting reading.
