Thanks for the tip. Now all I have to do is to get to Grenada without transiting in Miami. I guess there must be direct flights from Kingston, and I will look into the matter. Thanks again.

Caribbean airlines flies caymen to pos then london, but i just checked on skyscanner, your flight costs are disgustingly high. If it helps, norwegian air flys oslo to st croix bvi on fridays for about 400-500 pounds... Im sure theres a way to get there?

Looks like the standard price going forward is 600, not bad still.

Hi everyone, we are making our first trip to Costa in August with a view to making the move permanent in the near future. Any British expats that could lend a hand or advice to a couple of (soon to be retired) British soldiers would be most welcome!

Which Country is Safer: Nicaragua, Costa Rica, or Panama? - Costa Rica Star News
To be honest I would take that article with a massive pinch of salt. Costa Rica Star News / News.co.cr or whatever they want to call themselves are comically unreliable at times using downright laughable sources. Seems their new thing is to just pretend the article was a "test" of their readership if anyone calls them out on it.

Hi

We are a British family in CR. 3 years here and love it.

I would recommend the Facebook Group 'families with children in central valley, costa rica' as a great starting point.

We're interested in CR or Panama too, for when we're not in Florida.
(We are Brits but spend ~ December to May in the Sunshine State.)

As I hinted at in the Guatemala thread, now I'm interested in the Virus restrictions in Costa Rica. Are there any, these days?

We love living here in Cayman - 38 years this month - but it's a bit expensive for retirees, so we're looking for places to move to. A couple of years ago we spent a weekend in Jaco on the Pacific coast of CR: nice enough but a bit run-down; and we have friends who bought 200 acres up near Liberia where there is an international airport. My wife has just been down to Panama checking out David and Boqueta. She dismisses them as "a dump"; liked Panama City but says it's quite expensive. A friend lives quite cheaply up in the hills of Nicaragua, but then his wife is from there. A couple of our age (mid-70s) live near Cancun in Mexico, and love it. Our own choice might be somewhere on Lake Chappala.

Then there are the Caribbean islands - some of which are cheap and some not. Cayman doesn't have income-tax, but its import-duties make up for that. Jamaica is rather crime-ridden. My personal choice might be either Grenada and Nevis. In sum, pretty much anywhere would be OK, for someone who's new to the region. Trust to luck.
A friend if mine retired to El Valle/Panama about 10 yrs ago. It is 2 hrs I think from Panama City. El Valle seems to have a hot spring. Many retirees there from all over the world.
