First off where is DR? Is it a country?

OK. Probably Dominican Republic?

Hi robin, it's Dominican Republic..having checked everything and I think I should be fine, but I still have a funny feeling it might be rejected because everyone said the chances are slim in getting a visa

As long as your friend fulfils the requirements for a visitor visa and has no adverse immigration history there's no reason why it shouldn't be granted.

We just came to the end of 6 months on a visitor visa, no problem. She doesn't need a sponsor to visit. If you intend to get married you might want to dig a little further.
