Default Relocating/ Anti immigration sentiment BVI

Hi,

Myself and my husband are both in our thirties with a 6 year old, we have been looking at the Caribbean to relocate to.
I don't have a college education (or a least a complete degree yet) and after having done some research into Cayman Islands I was going to wait for a few years to make the leap. However, it appears that my husband may have an opportunity to move to BVI for work.

I have managed to find a fair bit in terms of finances and it seems to be doable, however I am concerned that there seem to be many suggestions of racism there. Does anyone have experience of this? There have been some posts that mention Islanders harbor ill feeling against UK citizens taking up posts in government.

Any insights would be much appreciated.

Many Thanks,
