Keeping a UK address
Hi ... I am looking to move to Barbados soon and was wondering where I stood in terms of needing a UK address. I will not have a permanent address in the UK and would stay with relatives or in rented accommodation whenever I make trips to the UK. What do I need to do regarding my passport, driving license etc? I would really appreciate any advice anyone has. Is it OK to use a relative's address so I can continue to receive mail, subscriptions ec? Thanks

Yes of course use a relative's address for your mail but not sure why you need an address for your passport or licence.? Once you get a licence in Barbados that is your current driving licence as you'll no longer be resident in the UK.

Use a relative's address if you trust them, or get a mail box at Mailboxes, Etc. They have a "street address", and use "Unit No" or "Flat No", rather than "Box No" in your address. It is unlikely that anyone will notice that it's not a "real" address. Mailboxes Etc also offers mail forwarding services.

Thanks ... in the first instance I will have to travel back and forth to the UK (only allowed to stay in Barbados three months, possibly six with an extension granted by immigration) ... I have no idea how I would get a Barbados passport or a driving license as I'm not a citizen ... I have relatives whose address I can use, I just wasn't sure how 'legal' that would be.
