It's our Canniversary!
3 years today, how time flies!!
We are still loving every minute of our lives here even though we have been through cancer, the long, long wait for our PR and having to stick with a crappy job!
Canada for us is everything we hoped it would be - we live mortgage and debt free, we camp, ski, hike and travel all the time and really are living the dream.
I am enjoying some time off after persevering with my crappy job until our PR arrived. OH is loving his job working part time with AHEIA and we are looking forward to our trip to NZ in October.
We don't miss the UK at all and haven't been back yet. All of our friends and family have been to visit at various times, during the summer particularly, I feel like a travel agent
We are going to move out of Calgary when we get back from NZ in April next year but haven't decided where to go yet - I feel a reccie trip coming on! On the shortlist so far - Moose Jaw SK, Smithers BC or Fredericton NB.
Will keep you posted - good luck to all those still in the queue, be patient, the end result is so worth it!
Louise x

Happy Canniversary, and thanks for your post - nice to hear from folks who have had a less than smooth ride, but do feel it is still the right thing to have done and are making the most of what Canada has to offer, and more importantly are living life to the full.
Wishing you all the best living your Canadian dream, oh and the NZ trip.
Rob.

Congratulations on three years.
It won't be long and you'll catch up with me.
You don't have to answer but why are you wanting to move?
The three places you have listed are all vastly different from each other and Calgary.

We are fortunate that we don't have to rely on earned income to support ourselves (we have some rental properties) as long as we are sensible and would like to move to an area that is firstly not as expensive as Calgary but mostly somewhere that we can buy an acreage (looking at about 60 acres) in a quieter area, closer to the wilderness. OH would like to shoot the wilderness hence the 60acre plus acreages
We will probably spend a good few months next year travelling Canada to ensure that we pick the right spot - unfortunately because of our medical history, we need to be able to visit a decent cancer hospital every 6 months or so, that may be the eventual deciding factor for us
OH has his own reasons for moving to the wilderness - the main one being that my mum probably wouldn't visit so often
