Been here 2 weeks!
I don't feel this is deserving of being in the Canniversary forum, and I think the info might be more useful here
We've been here exactly 2 weeks, just about to the hour lol. And we're loving it we moved from Glasgow to Nova Scotia, and were currently staying in the annapolis valley. The weather has, for the most part, been amazing, sunshine and blue skies. The countryside is just beautiful, and I love all the farmers markets here for local good value food. We're finding food here quite expensive so have been doing a lot of shopping around to find the best places to buy things.
In the first week we....
Got NS driving licences (what a truly awful photo I have!)
Got our SIN number
Bought a car (sorry, a truck!)
Sorted out bank stuff and applied for credit cards
In the second week we've been....
Chasing down a long term rental. Much more tricky than expected, see another post I made today!
Looking for business locations for Iain's business plan
Non stop research lol
Already this feels like our home. It doesn't feel foreign at all, everyone is so friendly and helpful it's amazing - makes such a difference from back in Scotland. I love seeing the wildlife, my current favourite are the hummingbirds! It's great going for a walk on a beach with no one else there, and driving through beautiful countryside. I know we can't eat or drink these things, and much depends on the next month or two and getting ourselves established here, but were loving is so far.
Huge thanks to all of you who have helped with info along the way

Re: Been here 2 weeks!
Well, that would be all the helpful answers to all the questions I've asked here over the past 5 years or so regarding application processes and life in Canada that have helped so much

Good luck mate, its a huge learning curve thingy. You won't notice the price of stuff once you start working. Well you will, but you won't care as much.

Nice little write up. Glad it's working out for you so far.

In any event, all update threads belong in the Canniversary sub forum, so I'll move it there.
Good luck with it all.

Re: Been here 2 weeks!
Ok no problem I've been trying to find time to sit and write down all of the useful tidbits we've learnt since arriving, and I probably started the post with that in mind and then ran out of time as seems to happen a lot at the moment!

Re: Been here 2 weeks!
Yeah I hope so. We've already had some success at budgeting for food, hopefully we'll get better and the income will grow and it will all be fine!
