Congrats on 3 years!

Your mistake was pushing back, these poor soft cradles just cant handle it lol....sounds like a middle management bell ..... anyway you are better off out of that environment. I hope that you find something else soon.

How do you give up meat and coffee??? That wipes out 80% of my diet

Maritime winters can be brutal - less so in Halifax but still a proper winter. I dont know how anyone who actually works for a living can afford a property in Vancouver.

Good luck for the future

I think your maths might be suffering. That would mean 20% max on booze but that can't be right.

Instead there was a lot of turnover as her staff complained of being micro managed and having to attend too many meetings to account for their actions. I stayed as my knowledge was useful to her until she hired the staff she preferred. Every fault was found even if I successfully finished a project. I felt I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

My last performance review was basically a summary of how rubbish I was. With a fake smile she handed me a pen to sign that I agreed with this. At the next company downsizing I was let go along with several others - escorted off the premises. I heard she was eventually sacked herself though.

In retrospect I wish I had just left when I knew the writing was on the wall.
That sucks to have to come back to all that change. I was the only one that was let go from the department that I know of. Massive lesson learnt that no-ones job is safe in this environment. Good to hear that manager got sacked. id like to hear that this dude gets let go but for some reason he was the 'poster boy' of the organization - being there for over 10 years.

We will have to see what happens - more and more families are moving outside of the city and schools are shutting down so its going to have an impact.

Thank you.

Yeah I thought the email of me pushing back made his decision. Not a Manager that you could argue your case with unlike my last Assistant Manager.

To be fair, I have had a couple of coffees this week but no meat!

Congratulations on your 3 year Canniversary, sorry to hear about the job though, I know what its like as I lost my job too, different circumstances but same outcome, at least your coming out the other side now though....and good things have come out of of it like your eating habits.... can't say the same for myself Ive gone the other way in that department after my job loss!

Anyway, over all you sound happy, and even with the job loss a lot happier than you were a couple of years ago. I think your on the right track, and happy in Canada, seems as though your job situation will sort itself out in the near future.

Thank you. I'm sure everything will. I feel like I'm a lot more open to change then I would have been 6 months ago
