Resident Engineer - Senior Site Mgr - Qatar
Senior Site Manager / Resident Engineer
You will join the region’s market leader on one of the region’s largest and most complex Hospital construction projects and take responsibility for supervising all on-site construction including subcontractors, resolving day-to-day problems on the job site, and inspecting all work during construction to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
We are looking for someone with minimum of 20 years of construction management experience, progressing to senior roles with experience that directly covers the below requirements:
• Construction management experience on a major hospital project.
• Leading, directing and monitoring the performance of a large number of site engineers, site managers and support staff in the construction management team.
• Supervising all aspects of on-site construction activities.
• Responding with appropriate and necessary levels of construction supervision to provide quality assurance in accordance with contract documents.
• Advising and assisting the contractors on construction procedures.
• Observing the safety procedures followed by the contractors and issuing instructions as necessary to correct safety violations.
• Liaising with the consultant and design team to achieve the highest achievable standards within the contracts.
• Monitor progress, assess standards, review design changes and advise the Resident Engineer as to progress.
This is an ideal position for someone who has extensive construction experience over many years, but who has retained and continually updated their “hands-on” knowledge and abilities over that time.
A qualification in a construction related discipline is a requirement for this position. Membership of a relevant professional institution will be highly regarded.
