Talking You know you're becoming canadian when you...!

Just thought i would start a light hearted thread to have some fun.

I have noticed in the past 18 months i have really adapted to my peers. I find myself saying EH! all the time after every speach or question.
i also find myself saying "your welcome" more and more.

what do you find yourself doing or saying?

Saying Hi, rather than Hello.

Gas rather than petrol.

Mail rather than post.

Hood rather than bonnet.

Trunk rather than boot.

Watching, Basketball, Baseball, Lacrosse, Football and Hockey.

Overtaking in the inside lane.

The list could go on.......

Do you mean apart from saying "When the hell is 'In Process' gonna change?"

Not a lot, really, but I like your line of thinking, eh!!

difference in wording gave me 2 of my most weird experiences whilst in canada. my 4 year old being given strange looks by other mums (moms) when she asked for a rubber!! and the strange look on my face when a girlfriend asked if my husband had any suspenders her husband could borrow!!

Your best winter coat isn’t suitable for temperatures above -10deg C..

You own two distinct wardrobes…one winter….one summer..

You consider maple syrup a breakfast staple…

When people talk about “homo” you think milk…

Automatically take off your shoes when you enter someone's home.

Know you have to serve coffee to your guests at the same time as you serve dessert.

Know you have to turn off your outside taps and drain them around the beginning of October.

Refer to the ground floor as the first floor.

Understand that no one knows what a fortnight is and you need to refer to it as two weeks.

See people waiting for a bus or theatre tickets, and refer to them as a line rather than a queue.

Say aluminum instead of aluminium.

Go on vacations instead of holidays.

Hire people and rent cars.
